Quedgeley 6 Dursley 2

Quedgeley eased to a win against a poor Dursley side to keep their impressive run going.

Wanderers were dominant throughout and took the lead after just 3 mins when Ant Sparrow's excellent deft chip beat the keeper from 18 yards to take his tally to 5 for the season. Dursley then came back with an equaliser after their striker's shot was only parried away on the skiddy surface and fell to their midfielder who tapped it in to the empty net.

This seemed to shock Quedgeley into action and as Nick Thorne broke into the box and advanced on the keeper he was tripped and won a certain penalty, which James Mulrain converted in his usual manner.
Dursley's poor discipline also cost them a third when a crazy lunge in the area handed Mulrain another chance from the spot to double his tally for the day, which once again he did with ease.

At half-time manager Eastcott's words were much of the same and that a 4th would kill off the game. It duly came just 5 mins in when Dean Hankins' quickly taken throw caught the defence off guard and they were too slow to close down man of the match Scott Gardiner's cross and Nick Thorne crept in on the back stick to tap home. By this stage it was becoming a case of just how many Quedgeley would get.
Dursley did add a second consolation after poor defending at a corner by Quedgeley and the ball was forced home at the far post with nothing Keeper Sparrow could do about it.
However, again their joy was short lived and Matt Turner danced his way into the box and finished well for a rare goal from the midfielder.
The rout was completed 5 mins from time when unselfish play from Ant Sparrow allowed Dean Hankins the simplest task of stroking the ball into the back of the net for his 4th of the season. But for good goalkeeping sub Stuart Judd could have added a 7th but it was not to be and Quedgeley had gained another 3 points in their quest for back to back league titles.

Man of Match - Scott Gardiner excellent in defence and got forward at every opportunity from the right back slot.
