Gloucester Civil Service 1-1 Quedgeley
Quedgeley learnt that if you don't take your chances at this level then you will get punished in this game. Wanderers were bright from the off and could have taken the lead as early as the 2nd minute but Chris Riley could not quite connect properly with James Mulrain's cross.
After missed chance after chance it looked a certainty that Matt Turner's header from an inch perfect Kyle Taitt cross had given Quedgeley the lead but a defenders somehow raced back to clear off the line.
The half time whistle could not have came at a worse time for Quedgeley and in the second half the passing rhythm seemed to disappear and chances were a little more at a premium. Civil Service grew into the game and were awarded a penalty when Kyle Taitt brought down a striker when he was through on goal. Steve Sparrow got a big hand to the resulting penalty but could not quite keep the ball out.
Quedgeley were stunned into action and with just 5 minutes remaining James Mulrain's free-kick from 20 yards wrong footed the goal keeper and a point was rescued. Scott Gardiner even came close to heading a winner in injury time and Riley shot over from just 6 yards after battling well.
