Quedgeley began the new season after promotion with a poor performance against fellow promoted Stonehouse.
Quedgeley found themselves behind with barely 10 seconds of the new season gone when Lee Hill got caught napping on the ball on the edge of the penalty box and the Stonehouse striker rounded Steve Sparrow in goal to gift them the lead. Wanderers responded by creating a few half chances and only a last ditch tackle prevented Matt Turner when he looked to have broke into the box and Scott Jones saw his effort saved when he looked odds on to score.
Just before half-time 1-0 became 2-0 after poor marking at a set piece.
Manager Eastcott did not mince his words at half time expressing how unhappy he was.
To Quedgeley's credit the second half was a much better performance and late on the Stonehouse goalkeeper made a point blank save from a Dean Hankins header and then somehow managed to turn a Scott Jones shot around the post.
So not the best of starts but a long way to go in the season and with improved finishing and a bit more luck in front of goal the 1st win will not be far away.
